Officer Who Killed Man Involved in ISU Chase Cleared

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- The officer who fired shots that killed a man leading police on a chase onto the Iowa State University campus on Monday has been cleared of any wrongdoing.
Story County Attorney Stephen Holmes says Ames police officer Adam McPherson was justified in using deadly force in shooting Tyler Comstock. After reviewing video of the chase and conducting interviews, Holmes says he believes the officer "acted reasonably under very difficult circumstances."
Holmes says the incident is tragic but he's relieved no one else was injured or killed.
Ames police and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation played patrol car dashboard videos at a Thursday news conference showing the white pickup Comstock was driving run through intersections, intentionally ram police cars, and drive recklessly on the university campus.
