Family of Shooting Victim Questions Neccessity

SLATER, Iowa (AP) --
The family of a man shot by police after a car chase at Iowa State University is questioning why he was killed.
James Comstock told The Des Moines Register he's outraged police shot and killed his son, 19-year-old Tyler Comstock.
Ames police say Tyler Comstock, of Boone, drove a stolen truck onto the ISU campus on Monday, where student pedestrians dodged it to avoid being run over. Patrol officer Adam McPherson fired six shots into the truck, and Comstock later died from two gunshot wounds.
Gary Shepley, Tyler Comstock's step-grandfather, questioned why police didn't back away from the truck as suggested by an officer during the chase.
Tyler Comstock's family says the teenager was not armed. They also say he was trying to get his life back on track.
