CEDAR RAPIDS (CBS 2/FOX 28) --
A potential innovation could someday change the way people use electronic devices.
Google is now applying for a patent on an "Electric Skin Tattoo."
It goes on a person's throat using adhesive and communicates with smartphones, gaming systems, and tablets by reading electricity conducted by the skin.
Officials say it can also be used as a lie detector.
