IC Man Arrested For Alleged Shooting Threat

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) --
An Iowa City man has been charged with harassment after his neighbors say he threatened to shoot them over a $50 debt.
Iowa City police say 82-year-old Winford D. Hamrick threatened his neighbors while walking his dog in late October. A criminal complaint says he approached the neighbors' door and told them they owed him $50.
One resident told police she felt threatened by Hamrick after he allegedly said he was going to get his gun and shoot them. Police say in the complaint that Hamrick appeared intoxicated during the incident.
The Iowa City Press-Citizen says Hamrick was arrested Monday. He is charged with an aggravated misdemeanor count of first-degree harassment. He remains at the Johnson County Jail. Court records do not list an attorney.
