CORALVILLE, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28)--With the holiday season just days away some people are looking for work and employers are also in the market for seasonal employees.
Today Goodwill and Coral Ridge Mall are trying to help job seekers.
Delisa Cadwell says she was simply hanging out at the mall when she came across this opportunity.
"I'm doing application online to find jobs to support me and my son, said Cadwell.
Her goal is to find a good paying job before this Christmas.
"I'm really trying to find something that I can do so I can buy him stuff for Christmas, said Cadwell.
That's exactly why folks from Goodwill of the Heartland reached out to coral ridge mall about holding this first of its kind job fair.
"We can help them with filling out applications. Doing their resumes helping them prepare for their interviews, said Amy Winslow, program director at Goodwill.
"It's a great opportunity to fill a need. We have stores who need employees and we have employees looking for jobs so we're able to marry the two together, said Monica Nadeau, Coral Ridge Mall general manager.
More than 35 businesses in the mall and surrounding areas signed up.
Winslow says that's because many employers are in need of extra helping hands during this time of the year, and positions range from seasonal to even full time work.
"Also some key holder manager positions and some companies really want people to know about their management training programs, said Winslow.
Cadwell hopes this job fair will help her reach her goal.
"Get a job and try to go and work every day try to do everything I can to support me and my family, said Cadwell.
We're told applicants who get hired will also receive gas cards and bus passes from Goodwill.
