Iowa State Patrol Uses New Tracking System

DES MOINES, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) --     A new piece of technology is looking to cut down on police chases.
A tracker bullet cannon is mounted in the grill of one of Iowa's State Patrol cruisers.
When the trooper hits a button in the car, the suspect's car is tagged by a tracking system.
The trooper can then end the chase and find the suspect after the car has stopped.
Troopers say the  makes sure no one is injured or killed in a pursuit.
Right now, only one vehicle in Iowa has the technology, but troopers said plans are underway to add at least five more very soon.
