Braley Calls for ACA Deadline Extension

WASHINGTON, D.C. (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- Iowa Congressman Bruce Braley says changes need to be made to the health care reform roll-out, but he does not believe it should cost a member of the President's cabinet their job.
Rep. Braley questioned Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius in during a hearing on Capitol Hill Wednesday morning.  He says Sebelius takes full responsibility for the botched launched of the website offering health insurance to millions of Americans.
After this morning's hearing, Braley told CBS 2 News that although Secretary Sebelius took responsibility for the failures, her expertise is needed to correct the problems.  He also said that people he's talked to in Iowa don't care about the politics of the problem, they just want it all fixed.
One area that Rep. Braley disagreed with Secretary Sebelius was on the deadline for Americans to sign up before facing a penalty.  The Obama Administration has set that cut-off for March 31st.  But Congressman Braley says it should be pushed back two months, the same length of time leaders say it will take to fully repair the health exchange website.  Braley says Secretary Sebelius was not prepared to do that yet, but said he would continue to push the Obama administration and his colleagues on Capitol Hill to call for the extension.
