Sorority House Sued For Impersonating

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) -- A national sorority has filed a lawsuit claiming that a landlord has been operating an unauthorized chapter house near the Maharishi University of Management.
Delta Zeta Sorority filed the lawsuit Monday against Frederick and Oksana Shaddock, co-owners of the Fairfield home that has advertised itself as the "Delta Zeta House."
Delta Zeta sent a letter in July demanding the couple stop using its name and official information in their advertising. The letter also requested their corporation give up the website domains, DeltaZetaHouse.com and DeltaZetaHouse.org.
The lawsuit says the house then started calling itself "Delta Nu Zeta" but has continued to suggest an affiliation with the sorority that doesn't exist. It claims they falsely tell tenants that they are pledging to the sorority.
Frederick Shaddock had no immediate comment Tuesday.
