Eastern Iowa Man Charged in Deadly Crash

WAVERLY, Iowa (AP) -- Authorities have charged an eastern Iowa man with homicide by vehicle in the 2012 death of a Decorah woman.
The Bremer County Sheriff's Office says in a news release Friday that 20-year-old Samuel Franzen, of Elberon, was arrested Wednesday and charged with homicide by vehicle in connection with the Dec. 4, 2012, death of Kerry Ann Nelson. She was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Franzen, which crashed and rolled southwest of Sumner.
A passenger in the vehicle also was seriously injured.
   Franzen received less severe injuries.
Franzen was booked into the Bremer County Jail and later released after he posted a bond.
A telephone listing for Franzen couldn't be located.
