Chemicals in Water in NW Cedar Rapids Neighborhood

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- The city of Cedar Rapids' water division is doing some cleaning this week.
Officials say they noticed the level of chloramine--a disinfectant -- is less than normal in a small section of the time check area.
They say - water use is down because fewer people are living there...
And as a result, the chloramine disinfectant is not consistently mixing with new water moving through the pipes.
Crews are currently flushing the area and homeowners have been notified.
