NewBo Fest Adds to Momentum

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS2/FOX28) -- Hundreds of people gathered in the New Bohemian district on Sunday to take part in the seventh annual New Bohemian Arts Festival.
This is the first year that the NewBo City Market has been open for the annual festival, and executive director Kristie Wetjen says, the presence of the market certainly adds some vibrancy to the event.
But, with more building renovations, art installations and new businesses popping up all the times, the momentum of the entire NewBo district made this year's festival a success, she says.
Richard Marsceau just celebrated the one year anniversary for his restaurant and coffee shop, Brewed Cafe, and says, the NewBo district brings a much needed boost of energy to the entire Cedar Rapids community.
"The urban feel that Cedar Rapids has missed ever since the malls opened up in the '60s. Downtown is being revitalized and it's great to see that vibrancy and that color and that diversity," Marsceau says.
NewBo City Market will be celebrating its one year anniversary in October.
