Fish Kill Reported in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) -- Dozens of trout have died in Cedar Rapids after a ruptured water main caused chlorinated water to pour into a stream.
The Department of Natural Resources says the broken main caused an undetermined amount of chlorinated water to enter McLoud Run on Thursday evening.
Cedar Rapids officials discovered the problem Thursday night and made repairs.
About 75 trout as well as white suckers were found dead along a quarter- to half-mile stretch of the stream, and the DNR says more fish may have died.
McLoud Run is known as Iowa's only urban trout stream.
