Coe Hits Record Enrollment
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) -- Coe College in Cedar Rapids says its enrollment for the fall semester has reached an all-time high.
The private, residential college said Tuesday that 1,338 full-time students are enrolled for the fall term, breaking the prior record of 1,312 set in 2011. The enrollment increase is driven by new students, including 389 first-year students.
The school said more than half of the freshmen students come from outside Iowa, representing 21 states and five foreign countries in all.
Coe President David McInally says in a statement the enrollment figures are consistent with a long-term plan to boost enrollment and build on Coe's academic quality.
