Drought Expands, Worsens Across Iowa

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- With no meaningful rain in sight, drought conditions continue to grow across Iowa.  The latest observations from the U.S. Drought monitor indicate severe drought conditions now over nearly a quarter of the state, including Des Moines.
Two-thirds of Iowa, including portions of Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and Williamsburg are listed under moderate drought conditions or worse.
The drought comes during the final stages of the growing season and farmers are growing concerned that persistent dry conditions will continue to hurt yields.
