Safety Tips for Extreme Heat

CEDAR RAPIDS (CBS 2/FOX 28) --
If you have to go out in the heat, the American Red Cross wants to make sure you're doing it safely.
Health officials are giving the following tips:
1.) Drink plenty of fluids like water and juice to stay hydrated.
2.) Wear loose-fitting, light-weight clothing in light colors.
   3.) Avoid extreme temperature changes.
   4.) Use a buddy system.
Several cities in Iowa are also hosting cool off points where folks can go to escape the heat.  Check with your local city hall or website for more information.
