Deputy Injured During Traffic Stop

MONONA, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- A sheriff's deputy is injured after he was hit during a traffic stop. It happened just after 10:00pm Tuesday night along highway 18 in Clayton County just west of Monona.
   The Iowa State Patrol says Deputy Craig Johnson was conducting a stop when a car driven by an elderly woman rear ended him at highway speed.
   The driver, 84-year-old Mary Svendsen and Deputy Johnson were both taken to a nearby hospital.
   Officials have not released their conditions.
