2 Arrested in Sexual Abuse of Children Investigation

WEST UNION (CBS 2/FOX 28) - Two people have been arrested following an investigation of a tip that several minor children were being sexually abused.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Department says they first got the tip on August 1, 2013 that several children may have been abused in the city of Waucoma.

Over the next five days the investigation drew in resources from the Iowa Department of Human Services, the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department and the Ossian/Calmar Police Department.

Authorities say their investigation uncovered a kidnapping which resulted in the sexual abuse of a 13 year old girl in late June of this year, which led to an arrest warrant for 20 year old Ramon Marcus Perec of Ossian for Kidnapping in the First Degree.

It also lead to charges being filed against 35 year old Holly Ann Yonkovic, also of Ossian, for felony Child Endangerment.

The two were located early Saturday in a motel in Strawberry Point where they were taken into custody without incident.

Investigators say more charges are expected as evidence of four more sexual abuse of juvenile victims were uncovered

Perez was also found by the US Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) of being in the country illegally and under a false name. He's now been identified as 23 year old Rodrigo Sandoval Estrade of Guatemala.

Estrade faces life in prison without parole if convicted of the Kidnapping charge and Yankovic faces up to five years if convicted.

Both are being held in the Fayette County Jail.
