UPDATE: Big Rig Driver Killed in Crash

UPDATE: Investigators say 68-year-old Loras John Pfab of Bernard, Iowa was killed in the crash.

LINN COUNTY (CBS 2/FOX 28) - The driver of a big rig was killed early Sunday morning at the junction of Highways 30 and 13.

Linn County Sheriff's deputies say the driver of the rig was making the transition from southbound Highway 13 onto east bound Highway 30 when he lost control and the semi overturned on the roadway.

The semi, pulling a tank filled with milk, slid through the guard rail into the south ditch, overturning several times before coming to a stop.

The driver was the only person in the rig, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff's deputies along with Marion Police and the Iowa Department of Transportation are investigating the crash.

Investigators tell CBS 2 News the ramp will be closed until sometime Sunday afternoon as the debris is removed and the guard rail is replaced.
