Flooding Delays SE Iowa Fireworks

FORT MADISON, Iowa (AP) -- Flooding along the Mississippi River is forcing one southeast Iowa city to delay its fireworks show.
Fort Madison officials decided to postpone the city's Fourth of July fireworks until Labor Day on Sept 2.
Fort Madison's Riverview Park is where the fireworks are normally show off from, but the park remains flooded.
Tim Gobble with Fort Madison Partners says the flooding makes it difficult to even access the park, and it's hard to tell how long the river will remain high.
Public Works Director Larry Driscoll says once the river recedes, it takes about a week for water to leave the park.
