DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) --

28-year-old Sheena Cornwell had pleaded guilty to one count of animal torture after killinh the 10-year-old pit bull mix on April 6.
Cornwell was given two years of probation on Friday, and will also be required to undergo psychological evaluation and treatment during that time.
Joshua VanDyke, whose dog, Lilly, was killed, says Cornwell watched the dog die and then calmly told him that the dog "was taken care of."
VanDyke went outside and found the dog hanging in the garage from the rafters by her leash.
Cornwell's attorney told the court she has serious mental health issues, but is not a dangerous person.
