CR Leaders to Announce New Venue's Naming Rights

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) -- The city of Cedar Rapids says it will announce a proposed naming sponsor for its new riverfront amphitheater.
City officials have called a news conference Wednesday to unveil details of the naming rights agreement, which will be proposed to the city council next week.
After months of construction, the $7 million amphitheater is expected to soon open on the west side of the Cedar River. It will feature an outdoor entertainment venue with a capacity of up to 5,000 that will host national touring events and local performances.
It will also be open to the public as a park, and include a levee and removable flood wall that will protect the city against future flooding.
The project has been funded through a mix of state grants, city funds and donations.
