Branstad Campaign Responds to Olson's Announcement

URBANDALE, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- A short time after Democratic State Representative announced he would seek his party's nomination for Governor in 2014, the campaign ramping up for incumbent Republican Governor Terry Branstad responded.
In a statement, campaign communication director Jimmy Centers said Iowa does not need Olson's politics.  "Olson's brand of partisan politics couldn't be further from Gov. Branstad and Lt. Gov. Reynolds' record of reaching across the aisle to pass laws that move Iowa forward."  Centers also said, "Tyler was there as (Governor) Culver's debt cheerleader rooting for more debt, larger government and reckless spending."
Governor Branstad has not formally declared his intention to seek another term in office, but his campaign office is open and has already raised millions if and when he chooses to do so.
