Rollover Crash Kills One and Injures Seven Near Pleasant Hill

PLEASANT HILL, Iowa (AP) -- Authorities are investigating a rollover crash that killed one person and injured seven passengers in a minivan that was crossing Iowa.

The Polk County Sheriff's office says the crash happened on Highway 65 near Pleasant Hill on Saturday afternoon.

The sheriff's office says a rear tire blew out on the minivan before the accident. That caused the northbound vehicle to cross the median into the southbound lanes.

Deputies found the van sitting upside down after it rolled.

There were three adults and five juveniles in the van. Authorities did not immediately identify the victims, but they say everyone in the van lived in another state.

One adult died in the crash. The other seven individuals were injured and taken to area hospitals.
