Pontarelli Joins Cedar Rapids Salvation Army

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (CBS 2 / FOX 28) -  The Salvation Army in Cedar Rapids welcomes Lia Pontarelli to their team as the new Director of Development and Communications.  In this position, Pontarelli will work with the community to ensure everyone is aware of the programs they offer, and how people can either help support those programs or receive assistance.
        “You never know who in your community is hurting and losing hope,” said Pontarelli.  “I like to think I’m not only getting people involved by supporting us with their time or donations, but also making sure that people know we are here for them.  No one has to go through anything alone.  I am very excited about working with the Cedar Rapids Salvation Army and getting to know those in the community.”
        Pontarelli served The Johnson County Salvation Army for the past two years in the same role and previously held positions in for profit businesses in both the Johnson County area and the Quad Cities. She holds a degree from St. Ambrose University in Public Relations and Marketing Communications and serves on the board for the Association of Fundraising Professionals and Next Gen. Summit.
