Cirque Du Soleil's "Quidam" Prepares For Cedar Rapids Debut

CEDAR RAPIDS,IA (KGAN/KFXA) - For the very first time the Cirque du Soleil show, Quidam, is making a stop in Cedar Rapids.

The show's artists are some of the first to entertain crowds as the US Cellular Center celebrates its re-birth after opening last week. The show opensThursday evening. It features performers from 25 different countries with many different skill sets. There are aerial contortionists, acrobats, rope skippers and many more.

Part of the show's message is for people to connect with each other. Its title comes from the Latin world, Quidam. Quidam means nameless passerby. Performers said that they hope through the show they will be able to connect with the people of Cedar Rapids.During the show, performers also help a little girl find her way in the world.

"If you've seen a Cirque Du Soliel show before, you know there are several different layers to the story so, um, the little girl in that fantastic journey will meet a lot of eccentric characters, beautiful aerial performers, really strong acrobats, on the floor, and they will all help her kind of understand things in life, find herself, find happiness," Leboeuf said.

There are still tickets available for the weekend performances at the US Cellular Center. For ticket information, click here.
