Father of Slain Girl Pleads Guilty to Drug Charges

WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) -- The father of one of two slain Iowa cousins has pleaded guilty to more drug-related charges.
Dan Morrissey made his pleas Monday in a Waterloo courtroom. The charges included conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. He pleaded guilty to two of the charges and entered an Alford plea on the other two. Under the Alford plea, Morrissey didn't admit guilt but acknowledged the prosecution likely could prove the charges.
In March he pleaded guilty to several drug-related charges in Davenport.
The 37-year-old Morrissey is the father of Lyric Cook, who disappeared while riding bikes with her cousin, Elizabeth Collins, in Evansdale in July. Their bodies were found in a wooded area in December, and no one has been charged.
