Iowa Bridges Get Low Ranking For Safety

WASHINGTON, DC (CBS 2/FOX 28) - A national transportation group says Iowa is among the worst states when it comes to bridge safety.  Transportation for America says 21.7% of Iowa bridges are deficient right now, making it the third worst in the country.  Only Pennsylvania and Oklahoma rank worse.

Among the bridges the group cites as lacking are the I-380 bridge over the Cedar River in Cedar Rapids, and the Highway 1 bridge in Iowa City.  Click here for an interactive map, to check bridges in your area.
