Cleanup in Full Swing Across Eastern Iowa

UPDATED:

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- The damage is widespread across eastern Iowa after powerful winds roared across the area Sunday Night.  In one neighborhood, many took the day off of work and are instead working in their yards, trying to clear away the damage left behind.

As of 4:30 p.m., Cedar Rapids Public Works Director Craig Hanson tells CBS 2/FOX 28 that about 200 locations of public tree damage had been reported.

City and Alliant Energy crews have assessed and cleared several dozen road closures, with half a dozen still in the process of being cleared.

Additional city staff are being assigned to pick-up tree debris to be put next to public street curbs.

The sicy says to report damage call (319) 286-5802.
