Boat Ramps Reopen on Cedar River

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) -- The Cedar Rapids Fire Department says the city has reopened boat ramps now that water levels have dropped in the Cedar River.
Officials closed ramps Friday night because the river was expected to rise above 13 feet, making it dangerous due to strong currents and rapidly moving debris.
Fire departments spokesman Greg M. Buelow says ramps opened Sunday morning because the river level was below 13 feet and continuing to drop.
