Abortion Doctor Spared Death Sentence
PHILADELPHIA, PA (AP) - Kermit Gosnell, convicted of killing babies during illegal abortions, has agreed to forego an appeal. This would spare him of the death penalty which prosecutors were pushing for.
Gosnell was convicted of murder for killing three babies born alive during late-term abortions. He is accused of delivering the babies then severing their spines with scissors. The jury also convicted him of manslaughter in the death of a patient, due to overdose.
