Iowa City Police Looking For Suspect in Parking Lot Robbery

IOWA CITY, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) - On Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 2:00pm an adult male reported to the Iowa City Police Department that he had been a victim of a robbery. He told police that on May 11, 2013 at approximately 3:00am he was sitting in a parking lot in the 100 block of E. Burlington St. when he was approached by a man who asked him if he had any money and then lifted up his shirt to display a handgun in the waist of his pants. The man then took an undisclosed amount of money from the victim and fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a dark completed African American male with long hair that was possibly in braids. He was hearing a black shirt and blue jeans.

Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000 for information leading to the arrest of this suspect.
