St. Luke's Hospital Warns of Possible Scam
CEDAR RAPIDS (CBS 2/FOX 28) --
St. Luke's Hospital is warning folks in Cedar Rapids of a possible scam.
Officials say people are posing as representatives from the hospital's Lifeline program, knocking on doors, and asking individuals to sign up for their security system.
St. Luke's says the hospital is not affiliated with any of these traveling salespeople and never trys to sell policies door-to-door.
Lifeline is a personal alert system aimed at seniors and home-bound individuals.
A witness told St. Luke's about the potential scam, after they say they were visited by a "Lifeline" salesperson.
The hospital has filed a report with the Cedar Rapids Police Department.
