A Man Is Dead After Gunshots Fired in Des Moines

DES MOINES, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- One adult male is deceased after reports of gunshots near Big Earl’s Gold Mine, at 4785 NW 2nd Avenue.  Reginald Renard Bryan Jr., age 23 of Florida, was found with a gunshot wound in the parking lot by Polk County Sheriff’s Deputies when they responded to a large party in the area at about 3:25 a.m. this morning. Reginald was transported by Saylor Fire Rescue to a local hospital where he later died. Another victim, Matthew Millsap age 24 of Des Moines, was driven to a local hospital by a third party for medical treatment of a gunshot wound to his leg. Matthew is expected to be treated and released.

     Many agencies arrived at the scene including Des Moines Police Department, a Windsor Heights Police K-9 Unit, and Mercy One. Several witnesses are currently being interviewed by Polk County Sheriff’s Detectives. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting.
