Republicans Lining Up Behind Rep. King

DES MOINES, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- No Republicans have formally declared their intention to run for one of Iowa's U.S. Senate seats.  Current Senator Tom Harkin announced he would not seek re-election in 2014.  Fellow Democrat Bruce Braley has already announced he's in the race and is considered a lock for the Democratic nomination.
But the Republican side of the race is very murky.  All eyes are on Congressman Steve King who is considering entering the race.  Other Republicans have already announced they will not run.  Rep. King says he plans on making a decision sometime in the next few weeks.
According to the Iowa Republican, at least two others are considering a run if King chooses to stay out of the race.
State Senator Joni Ernst of Red Oak says she will likely run if Rep. King does not.  And former gubernatorial candidate Rod Roberts says he's also looking at entering the race.
Senator Charles Grassley won't say if he will seek re-election in 2016.  Last week, the Senator said he will make that decision after the 2014 campaign comes to an end.
