CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- Six men are safe this morning after an overnight fire at an assisted living residence in Cedar Rapids. It happened on the 1100 block of White Ivy Place NE around 11 o’clock last night. As firefighters arrived, they saw fire coming from the roof of the residence. Part of the ceiling collapsed as firefighters put out the flames but it allowed them better access to extinguish the fire. No one was injured in the fire and all occupants were able to escape. The residents have now found temporary housing until repairs can be made. The exact cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
