Mia O'Brien joined the CBS 2 and Fox 28 Sports team in August 2015.
A native of the Jersey Shore, Mia graduated magna cum laude from Ithaca College in Ithaca, N.Y. in May 2015. During her senior year, Mia worked as a freelance Sports Reporter for WENY-TV in Elmira, N.Y., where she covered the New York Jets Training Camp beat and NASCAR at Watkins Glen. During her time at Ithaca College, Mia was heavily involved with the award-winning, Ithaca College Television and 92 WICB stations. Mia was the first female host ever of "The Gridiron Report," the longest running college sports program in the nation, following the likes of ESPN's Karl Ravech and Kevin Connors. She also was the sideline reporter for "Bombers Live" football broadcasts during her junior and senior year, and also served as Senior Class President. Mia was ranked No. 10 in the nation in the Sportscasting Talent Agency of America's 2015 ranking of the top college broadcasters in the U.S. Mia interned at ESPN and the Academy of Country Music while studying "abroad" in London and Los Angeles, respectively. She also interned at News 12 New Jersey, the New York Red Bulls, and the New Jersey Jackals Baseball Team.
Mia is pumped for a new challenge in the Hawkeye State even if that means leaving her beloved beaches and Jersey bagels behind (don't worry, she'll still be rooting for the Yankees from afar). She is always down for a new adventure, and a new story to tell, so feel free to shoot her an email or stop her to say hi.
