Justin Roberts is an Emmy Award-Winning broadcaster and has called CBS 2 and Broadcast Park home since April 2, 2002 (started his first day at 2pm) and has been an on-air forecaster since July 2007.
He was born and raised in Iowa, growing up in Northeast Iowa in the small town of Fayette. He began his broadcasting career in radio at the heritage call letters KOEL in Oelwein and from there moved to the 'Big City' of Cedar Rapids and WMT AM & FM.
Having anchored Severe Weather coverage on radio for the last five years, he bought some ties, learned how to apply makeup, and made the move to TV Weather, where you can join him every morning on CBS 2 This morning and on the CBS 2 News at Noon. Since the move to television, the highlights of his career include nine hours of continuous wall-to-wall coverage of the devastating EF5 tornado that tore through Parkersburg and around-the-clock coverage of the historic Floods of '08 that took him from the forecast center to the anchor desk non-stop for 5 days on little to no sleep and no shower.
When he's not in the Forecast Center, you can find Justin catching a round of golf, at a Kernels or Roughriders game, or spending time with family and friends. He's an avid Iowa Hawkeye and St. Louis Cardinals fan, a 4th degree Knight of Columbus, and occasionally fills in at the organ at St. Jude's Catholic church in Cedar Rapids and Welsch Congregational Church in Iowa City. Justin is excited to be forecasting the weather for his hometown and the area he knows so well.
