CHRISTMAS IN THE CORRIDOR: Brucemore lights up for Christmas
Brucemore Mansion is an impressive house any time of year but when the halls a decked for the holiday’s it’s defiantly a popular place.
“It's one of our busiest times for tours of the year,” says Jessica Peel-Austin, Manager of Interpretations and Collections at Brucemore.
A walk through the historic home will help you slow down and step back for a glimpse at Christmas’s past.
“You have 40 or 50 minutes to enjoy yourself with your company as well as learn some history and speak with one of our very knowledgeable tour guides,” says Peel-Austin.
The eye catching grandeur is something even out of towners can't resist.
“We had seen the lights one winter and we really wanted to come back and see the holiday lights,” says Brian Walker.
He and his family stopped during a visit from Minnesota.
“Very interesting, very lively tour, there’s lots to see,” says Walker.
He adds that they like visiting historic sites and the decor made quite the impression.
“The decorations are really amazing there’s a Christmas tree in every room beautifully decorated,” says Walker.
The decorated trees may not actually adorn every room but the luster of the lights is a must see, even for those who have been there before.
“The house is beautiful on its own but with the addition of 13 Christmas trees and garlands and decorations all throughout the house it really adds to that kind of vintage and home like charm of the mansion,” says Peel-Austin.
It’s recommended to call ahead if you are interested in a tour during the busy holiday season.
