A Cedar Rapids woman is facing multiple charges for her role in a fatal hit and run in Cedar Rapids at the beginning of October.

Cedar Rapids police say 63-year-old Michael Olson was riding his motorcycle near C Street and 20th Ave SW at 3:16 p.m. Oct. 1 when he was struck by a 2000 Honda Accord. The car was reported stolen on September 26 and had stolen plates from another vehicle that same day.

Evidence collected at the scene led police to identify the driver as 25-year-old Ashley Pennington.

Pennington was already in the Polk County Jail for other charges and was transported to Linn County on Thursday.

She is charged with leaving the scene of a crash resulting in death, second-degree theft and forgery.
