Winter holding tight through the week

An active, wintry set up over the weekend

Monday's snow was just the beginning of a wintry, active week ahead. Cold air will remain in place through the week. Additionally, a few systems will move through and bring the chance for additional snow. The first of which arrives Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

There will be a brief break Wednesday afternoon into early Thursday. Then a stronger system will move into the Midwest for the end of the week. Snow will be possible Thursday through Sunday. Confidence is increasing that several inches of snow will fall during this time. There is still uncertainty on the exact amounts and where the heaviest snow will set up as we end the week. The Weather First Team will continue to update you and you can always get the latest forecast at cbs2iowa.com/weather.
