One injured in shooting in SW Cedar Rapids Tuesday morning
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (CBS2/FOX28) —
One person is recovering after a shooting at an apartment complex in southwest Cedar Rapids.
A police spokesperson says they received a report of shots fired in the 4000 block of 21st Avenue SW around 11:26 a.m. Police found shell casings on the scene and damage to a door at the complex. Police say there was a distrubance and a vehicle left the scene.
About twenty minutes later, a 22-year-old male victim was dropped off at UnityPoint St. Luke's Hospital with a gunshot wound that entered his chest and exited his arm. Initially, police believed he was only shot in the arm. The injury is not life threatening.
Police are still investigating.
