UPDATE: Woman who walked away from mental health facility found alive
IOWA CITY, Iowa —
UPDATE: Iowa City officials say Jones has been found alive. She was taken to an area hospital to be treated and evaluated.
Iowa City officials need help locating a woman who walked away from a mental health facility. Officials from several jurisdictions are looking for 35-year-old Vanessa Jones.
Officials say she walked away from Chatham Oaks in Iowa City. It's a treatment center for people with chronic mental illness.
Officials say Jones left the facility just after 5:30 p.m. on Sunday and walked to the west. She then entered a field to the south. She is described as a white female with green eyes and brown hair. She is approximately 5'4" and weighs around 160 pounds. Jones was last seen wearing a red sweater, pants, and pink Crocs sandals.
