North Liberty man accused of robbing woman with rifle; charged in 2014 rape
NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa (CBS2/FOX28) —
A North Liberty man is facing numerous charges after breaking into a home and robbing someone at gunpoint.
Criminal complaints say on Wednesday, 33-year-old Beauhanan Walker knocked on the victim's door at Country Living Apartments and pointed a rifle at her head and entered the apartment. Walker then told her to lay face down on the bed while he searched for valuables, eventually leaving with $40 and a belt.
A search warrant was executed at Walker's apartment in the same apartment complex, and authorities found a rifle hidden under a mattress. He is not allowed to own a firearm after a felony conviction in Cook County, Illinois in 2005.
When brought to the Johnson County Jail for booking, Walker ran from officers and could not be located. He was eventually found and brought to jail.
Walker also was charged on a warrant for a sexual assault in 2014. A criminal complaint says Walker fell asleep at a friend's apartment and fell asleep in a bedroom. The victim woke up to find Walker having sex with her without her constent. SHe was able to push him off of her and leave the bedroom.
In all, Walker is charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, control of a firearm weapon by a felon, escape from custody by a felon, and third-degree sexual abuse.
He is being held in the Johnson County Jail.
