Marion hosting ward specific meetings for public input
MARION, Iowa (CBS 2/Fox28) —
With so much development happening in Marion, leaders decided last year to improve transparency by hosting ward-specific meetings throughout the year.
After finding the outcomes of each meeting useful, they have continued that process into 2017.
The meeting for Ward 1 happened tonight at Heritage Hall.
Marion officials say these are a good opportunity for citizens to share concerns or compliments on anything that the city is involved with.
Mayor Nick AbouAssaly says it's refreshing to see citizens, old and new, come and show a real passion for what is happening in their city.
If you live in Ward 1 and missed tonight's meeting City Council members have office hours each Saturday in the Marion Library
