“I don’t know if there has ever been a time or place in history where baseball fans would need to go to an ice arena to warm up, but it appears we have one tomorrow. Coach Carlson (RoughRiders) came up with the idea, so I ran it by Doug Nelson, CEO of the Kernels, and he thought it would be a great option for fans who are enjoying an evening of baseball, but don’t want it to end due to the cold weather,” said Doug Miller, Co-President of the RoughRiders. “We all wish it were sunny and 70 degrees, but Mother Nature has other plans for Saturday night.”

First pitch of the Kernels' 2018 home season is set for 5:05 p.m. on Saturday against Quad Cities. Puck drop for the Riders game against Sioux City is at 7:05 p.m.
