ICPD investigate attempted sexual assault

Iowa City Police are searching for a man accused of attempting to sexual assault a women early Saturday morning.

Investigators were called to 311 E. College St. just after 2 A.M.

According to the victim, she was speaking to a male in the breezeway next to the apartment building when he began to assault her. As she yelled for help, the suspect took off.

He's described as a 6-foot tall male between the age of 25-30, 160-175 pounds, with short hair. He was wearing a light colored shirt and dark pants.

Anyone with information about this incident, or incidents similar to this, is requested to contact the Iowa City Police Department. In addition, the Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering up to a $1000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the outstanding suspect. Anyone with information about this crime is urged to contact CrimeStoppers at 358-TIPS (8477). All calls are held in strict confidence and anonymity is guaranteed. Individuals providing information do not have to reveal their identity to collect a reward.
