Former Linn-Mar employee gets jail time for sending obscene photo to child
MARION, Iowa (CBS2/FOX28) —
A former Linn-Mar school district employee will spend a year in jail after pleading guilty to sending a pornographic picture to a student.
26-year-old Marcus Cain pleaded guilty to dissemination and exhibition of obscene materials to a minor back in March. As part of a plea deal, Cain received a 365 day jail sentenced, but will only have to serve 90 days. The rest of his sentence is suspended. He also gets credit for time served off of the 90 days.
Cain is also required to register as a sex offender for 10 years.
According to police, the school district got information in October that 26-year-old Marcus Cain had engaged in inappropriate conduct with a student.
Linn-Mar officials contacted Marion Police. Investigators found that Cain sent a pornographic image to a juvenile on or about August 1, 2016.
Cain was then terminated by the school district.
