Firefighter injured while putting out fire at North Liberty co-op
NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa (CBS2/FOX28) —
A North Liberty firefighter was injured while responding to a fire inside a North Liberty co-op Wednesday morning.
Fire crews were sent to Frontier Co-Op for a reported fire at around 10 a.m.
Upon arrival, smoke could be seem from the roof of the structure. Everyone inside the building was able to get out safely.
Crews determined the fire started in a grinding and dust collection system causing smoke to spread throughout the building, but the sprinkler system prevented flames from spreading further.
The firefighter who was injured was treated at the scene.
Right now, there's no estimate on the amount of damage done to the building.
