Corridor Cares to Benefit Cedar Lake
CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS2/FOX28) - The revival of Cedar Lake is about to get a big boost.
The 100 Plus Corridor Men and Women who care event was held at Elmcrest Country Club.
Everybody there brings $100 and votes on a charitable organization to receive the grand total. The big winner tonight: Friends of Cedar Lake.
David Sorg is the board president of the 100 Plus Men's Group
"Everybody has the opportunity to vote on the preferred agency to receive the money so it's something no more democratic and fun and efficient way to raise money," said Sorg.
Two hundred people showed up to the event Tuesday night. Members of the organization say they still expect more money to come in from those invited, but unable to attend
