Cold weekend, snow likely Sunday

Clipper will produce snow in the Upper Midwest Sunday evening into Monday morning

Winter is back just in time for the weekend with below normal temperatures and the chance for snow.

Ahead of the cold air, Wind Chill Advisories have been posted for many areas mainly along and north of Highway 20. Here, wind chills are expected to dip into the -15 to -30 range. Frostbite and hypothermia can occur in as little as 20 minutes.

Main focus shifts to a clipper which will move through the Upper Midwest on Sunday and is forecast to bring in a round of fluffy snow to eastern Iowa.

Winds will pick up behind the clipper and could lead to blowing snow Sunday night into Monday morning. Additionally, a shot of even colder air moves in for the start of next week.

There will likely be some changes to the timing and amounts this weekend and we'll continue to update you with the latest trends at cbs2iowa.com/weather.
